Berry Chia Jam with Oat Crackers
Berries carry ellagic acid, a phytochemical studied for protecting DNA from damage — and their bright tartness reads clearly through altered taste.
Gentle for metallic taste, a good day.
Ingredients
- 1 cup mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries)
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp pure maple syrup
- Whole-grain or oat crackers, for serving
How to make it
- Warm the berries in a small saucepan over medium heat, mashing with a fork as they release their juices.
- Once bubbling, stir in the chia seeds and maple syrup.
- Rest off the heat 10 minutes — the chia thickens it into jam.
- Spread over oat crackers.
