Soothing Maple Rice Flour Gruel

Rice flour cooked into a thin porridge is an ancient comfort food for delicate systems. It is entirely smooth, hypo-allergenic, neutral in flavor, and creates a soothing coating over sensitive mouth and throat tissues.

Gentle for a sore mouth, nausea.

Ingredients

How to make it

  1. Whisk the rice flour into cold almond milk or water in a small pot until dissolved.
  2. Place over medium-low heat and bring to a gentle simmer, whisking constantly as it instantly thickens.
  3. Cook for 3–4 minutes, stir in the maple syrup, and let cool before serving.
