Soft Mashed White Fish Paste
Flaky white fish like sole or tilapia is extremely mild. Poaching it in milk or broth keeps it moist, and mashing it into a fine paste ensures there are no dense pieces to aggravate mouth sores.
Gentle for a sore mouth.
Ingredients
- 4 oz white fish fillet (bone-free)
- 1/4 cup low-sodium vegetable broth (for poaching)
- 1 tsp butter
How to make it
- Gently simmer the fish fillet in the vegetable broth in a small covered skillet for 5–6 minutes until it flakes instantly.
- Remove the fish from the liquid and transfer to a plate.
- Mash thoroughly with a fork along with the butter until it forms a soft, uniform paste with no distinct chunks.
