Cooling Almond-Vanilla Rice Pudding

White rice flour cooked into a thin, smooth gruel mimics the comforting flavor of rice pudding without any chewy grains. Serving it chilled provides a cooling, numbing effect that calms oral discomfort and settles an unstable stomach.

Gentle for a sore mouth, nausea.

Ingredients

How to make it

  1. Whisk the white rice flour into the cold milk in a small saucepan until completely dissolved.
  2. Place over medium-low heat and bring to a gentle simmer, whisking continuously as it thickens.
  3. Cook for 3 minutes, then stir in the alcohol-free vanilla and maple syrup.
  4. Transfer to a small bowl and place in the refrigerator to chill thoroughly before serving.
