Bland Oat & Banana Calming Shake
When nausea makes it difficult to think about food, this completely bland, neutral-smelling shake provides stable calories. Bananas are soft on the stomach and rich in potassium, while oat milk is gentle on a sensitive digestive tract, providing a smooth drink that won't coat the throat with heavy, mucous-producing dairy.
Gentle for nausea, a sore mouth.
Ingredients
- 1/2 ripe banana (room temperature or frozen)
- 3/4 cup plain, unsweetened oat milk
- 1 tbsp quick oats (blended down)
How to make it
- Add the quick oats to the blender first and pulse a few times to break them down into a fine powder.
- Add the banana slices and the plain oat milk to the blender.
- Blend on high for a full 60 seconds until the mixture is perfectly smooth, velvety, and thin enough to drink easily without a straw (as straws can sometimes create painful suction in a sore mouth).
