Anti-Inflammatory Melon-Mint Slushie
Honeydew melon and cantaloupe are made up of over 90% water, making them remarkably hydrating and naturally low-acid. Mint contains menthol, which naturally relaxes stomach muscles to relieve nausea, while the icy temperature provides an immediate cooling, anti-inflammatory blanket over a painful mouth.
Gentle for nausea, a sore mouth.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh honeydew melon or cantaloupe, cubed and frozen
- 1/4 cup cold water or coconut water
- 2–3 fresh mint leaves (blended completely smooth, or steeped and removed if preferred)
How to make it
- Place the frozen melon cubes, cold water, and fresh mint leaves directly into a high-powered blender.
- Blend on high speed until the ice and fruit turn into a smooth, uniform, spoonable slushie.
- Ensure no large mint leaf pieces remain; they should be completely pulverized so they do not catch in a sore throat. Sip slowly or eat with a spoon.
